hello hello

I am a Somatic Experiencing practitioner (SEP), working with folks toward dislodging trauma (acute, intergenerational, historical, and cultural) that gets locked in our nervous systems. drawing upon decades of practicing presence through dance, ceremony, and living with chronic illness, I look to models of care within my queer and disability justice communities. my aim is to support healing and integration with others, toward weaving an intact culture where everyone’s dignity and self-determination is honored.

body wisdom

as practitioner, I guide, witness, and collaborate to support you in attuning to the wisdom and messages that your body is communicating through nervous system protective responses and muscle patterning. I take care to work only within my scope of practice.

experience

I have experience working with layered trauma, and am especially drawn toward working with ancestral and inherited wounds and resources. I have experience supporting folks with

  • chronic pain and illness

  • syndromes and progressive conditions

  • loss, grief, and relational shifts

  • gender affirming surgery, hormone therapy, and IVF

  • exploring whiteness and supremacy culture as they impact / express in bodies

how it works

while Somatic Experiencing (SE) is open to all bodies and lived experiences, some types of harm leave deep reasons why one may not feel like their body is easy to navigate. by making small moves at a time, SE offers a way to notice what our nervous systems are holding and build resilience in our bodies. witnessing and honoring how our bodies have navigated survival is crucial. from here, we can discern what protective responses (fight, flight, freeze) continue to serve us and what might be ready to yield to something different. like this, we might individually move with more choice and space through our lives, and collectively rebuild cultures of care and joy.

ritual

I hold the project of transforming trauma as sacred, and I come to it with ritual reverence. my attraction to SE is deeply rooted in my desire for healing within my own lineages. working with ancestors is one way we can widen our container of support while remembering the spiritual tether between spirit, body and land.

collective liberation

I also hold the project of transforming trauma as necessary in order to uproot the impact of settler colonialism and white supremacy culture as they land in our bodies. I recognize these harms impact us all, yet quite differently depending on our biopsychosocial locations. I practice Somatic Abolitionism, which aims to dispel white supremacy culture through embodiment and communal transformation toward collective liberation.
